What is it like to teach at Waltham Public Schools?
The City of Waltham is a diverse city with a population of 62,000. Centrally located between Greater Boston and the MetroWest area, Waltham is easily accessible to Boston, Cambridge and surrounding communities by car or mass transit. Route 128, America’s Technology Highway, traverses through the City’s modern office and industrial parks and is home to many national, international and Fortune 500 companies. The City enjoys a favorable bond rating and is in excellent financial condition.
Waltham is known for its revitalized downtown district and offers numerous cultural and recreational opportunities, including the 250-acre Prospect Hill Park, Charles River, museums, national historic sites, and two institutions of higher education: Bentley University and Brandeis University.
The City values educational excellence for all its students. As part of that commitment, the City has constructed 8 new schools (6 elementary and 2 middle), and will open the new comprehensive Waltham High School in August 2024.
