Westwood is a thoughtful school community that values collaboration and innovation in teaching and learning. The town of Westwood is an affluent predominantly white community that is accepting and welcoming to families and educators from a variety of different backgrounds.
What kind of support does Westwood Public Schools offer new teachers?
Westwood has a robust mentoring program for new educators. The district also offers a variety of in-district courses as well as opportunities for professional development beyond the district. Recently the district received the DESE Diversification Grant, with this we are able to assist educators in securing licensure as well as reimbursing for graduate courses.
